Want a fabulous day trip?  Chatham is a really great option.  My Hubs and I once took this quiz.  It was suppose to tell you your ‘perfect town’ to live in… we both got Chatham.  The funny thing, neither of us had ever been so on a kind of quite weekend we decided why not do a day trip?  See if it really is exactly what we wanted.

Just driving through is beautiful and it was easily walkable with a stroller.  The shopping is adorable (The Crooked Fence and Midsummer Nights being personal loves) the Hubs got a lobster belt (of course) and we picked up a fun brass plaque for my dad.  Focus Gallery is an exceptional venue for photography prints, and there is no shortage of cute clothing shops and ice cream stops.

However, if you are interested in the best view while you sip a smart cocktail, the porch at The Chatham Bars is everything they brag about.  We had so much fun there and they were totally sweet to our screech owl of a baby.  The chairs overlooking the ocean remind you why people brave the traffic for the Cape.  We didn’t make it to the beach, next time we are bringing our suits for sure!

It’s pretty far out on the cape, but if it’s not the middle of July or August, it’s really not a long trip – we were there in less than an hour and a half!  I’m thinking September could be a good time to revisit!  Is it our perfect town?  Not sure, for now, Scituate is kinda rockin’ so we’re happy, but I think we can keep it on the list in the future!
